The CIS Madeira develops informative actions related to the use of wood as a construction material. In relation to this line of activity, the Galician Forest Industry Agency, in collaboration with the Galician Wood and Design Cluster, has launched a new web platform that aims to respond to the demand for information in this area.
This web portal aims to facilitate access to technical information, creating a shared space for specifiers, technologists, installers and manufacturers.
The platform has several sections, among which the consultation section stands out, which aims to answer any doubts and questions that architects may have regarding the use of wood in construction.
In the resources section, you can find information such as publications and reports. Likewise, the agenda section also includes the specialised training offer aimed at specifiers, of the Official Association of Architects of Galicia, the Structural Wood Engineering Platform - PEMADE (dependent on the University of Santiago de Compostela), the Centre for Higher University Studies of Galicia (CESUGA), the Cluster of Wood and Design of Galicia and the Xunta de Galicia.
Finally, the projects section offers technical information on buildings already built, where wood played a significant role, including a technical explanation of the wood solutions implemented, as well as a technical-photographic dossier. To all these contents will be added information on the different products and solutions in wood with use in the construction, that the different manufacturers of Galicia can put to the disposition of the promoters, public and private.
